1) What is Mobile Investment Manager?
Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund (BSLMF) & MCHEK India Payment Services Pvt Ltd (mChek) have partnered to offer an alternate mode of accepting transactions for existing investors of BSLMF who choose to avail the services by registering for it. By using this facility the investor would be able to manage his investments from the convenience of one's own mobile phone.
This service will enable investors to initiate requests towards

Additional purchases / Lumpsum purchase in designated schemes
•
Systematic Investments (SIPs) Registration
•
Switches
•
Redemptions
All you need to do is register yourself by filling up the registration form and the ECS debit mandate form.
2) What are the pre-requisites for availing Mobile Investment Manager?
Following are the pre-requisites to avail for the services:
1. Should be an existing resident investor of BSLMF
2. Should have registered for the service with BSL MF.
3. Should be maintaining a bank account at an ECS enabled Bank / Branch / City as per Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

3) Who can use this facility?
This facility is available for resident individuals who are existing investors of Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund and maintain a bank account falling under RBI’s ECS clearing location.
4) Are there any regulatory limitations in the amount transacted through this platform?
As per existing guidelines issued by RBI on Mobile Banking, the per-day limit of transacting through the mobile is subject to a daily cap of Rs 50,000/- per customer for purchases made using a mobile phone. Consequently Subscriptions in BSLMF is capped at Rs 50,000/ - per day.
Currently there are no limits imposed by RBI towards Redemption and Switch requests initiated through this platform.
5) What are the advantages of Mobile Investment Manager?
The advantages of using Mobile Investment Manager are as follows:
Reach & Availability
– All BSLMF investors holding an ECS enabled bank account (currently 87 locations) could use Mobile Investment Manager to transact comfortably from anywhere / anytime even while on the move.
Increased Convenience
Provides a self-service option for transaction submission
Make payments without issuing a cheque
- Payments are initiated based on the registered ECS mandate without having to issue a cheque.
Need not remember key account information
– All relevant account information required to transact like: (i) Folio No (ii) Existing schemes (iii) Minimum subscription, switch & redemption amount (iv) Existing broker code etc are linked and needs to be selected to transact.
Reduction in SIP Registration TAT
– The time taken in fresh SIP registration is reduced significantly and an investor can opt for the first debit to happen with 10 days lead time. Once the SIP is registered the ongoing debits would be carried out without having to initiate a payment / transaction.
Prompt confirmation of transaction submission
– Near immediate receipt of submission confirmation or rejection intimation is received once the transaction is completed.
Paper less transaction capability once registered for the service
Avail for other facilities available on mChek Mall at your discretion

How do I make payments towards Purchases through this model?
Payment process is initiated after processing of the transaction via RBI Electronic clearing services (ECS). Money toward the additional subscription / purchase made is debited from the registered bank account. The process of debiting the account may take up to seven days depending on the settlement cycle of the location .Till such time the units allotted are on hold and cannot be redeemed.
Please Note: Purchase cannot be made by using Credit or Debit cards.
7) How do I access Mobile Investment Manager?
Investors may choose to access the facility by downloading the application on to their supported handsets or access the mChek wap site. This is enabled for any GSM operator subscribers.

8) What are the procedures to register for Mobile Investment Manager?
Existing investors of BSLMF interested in availing for this facility needs to fill up the registration form available on the website. The contents of the form are:

Page 2 - Mobile Investment Manager Terms and Conditions
Page 3 – ECS Debit Mandate registration form
On receipt of completed registration form the various steps listed below are followed :
Step -1
Registration process and ECS debit mandate verification is performed. On receipt of confirmation of successful mandate registration from the investor's bank, the services are activated. The registration process takes up to 25 days.
Step -2
1. For all successful registrations mChek sends a message to the registered mobile number containing a link to download and install the application on the phone.
2. The investor, on completion of installation, starts the mChek client application and selects a 6-digit numeric mChek PIN (the same will be used to authorize all transactions using mChek).
3. Investor receives a welcome note from mChek, clicks on "Accept" for the T&C which completes the registration process. At this stage the application is ready for use.
9) What is the cut off time For NAV applicability?
Although this platform is available at all times, eligible transactions permitted under designated schemes for this facility that are received up to 2.45 pm by the service provider on any business day will be processed for the NAV of the same business day and transactions received after 2.45 PM or on non-business days shall be processed for NAV of subsequent business day.
10) How to submit a Account Information request through the mobile?
Following are the steps to submit an Account Information request.
Step 1 – After launching the application the investor goes to the mChek Mall and selects Mutual Funds and thereafter selects 'Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund'.
Step 2 – Investor selects 'Portfolio Information' and chooses the folio number
Step 3 - Waits till the information is processing and confirmation is displayed on the screen
Step 4 - Enter mChek PIN to confirm the transaction. On successful completion the investor will receive sms with the investment summary or details as desired by the customer.
11) How to make a Lumpsum purchase through the mobile?
The various steps involved in making a Lumpsum purchase are as captioned below:
Step 1 – After launching the application the investor goes to the mChek Mall and selects Mutual Funds and thereafter selects 'Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund'.
Step 2 - Investor selects "Purchase" menu option and selects the Folio to transact after accepting the terms and conditions
Step 3 – Investor selects the scheme and indicates the intent to make a Lumpsum investment and enters the amount.
Step 4 – The investor selects or enters the broker details. Waits till the information is processing and confirmation is displayed on the screen.
Step 5 – Enters mChek PIN to confirm the transaction. On successful completion the investor will receive sms confirmation giving complete details of the transaction.
12) How to register for an SIP through the Mobile?
Following are the steps to register for an SIP.
Step 1 – After launching the application the investor goes to the mChek Mall and selects Mutual Funds and thereafter selects 'Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund'.
Step 2 - Investor selects "Purchase" menu option and selects the Folio to transact after accepting the terms and conditions.
Step 3 – Investor selects the scheme name where the SIP is to be registered.
Step 4 – The investor selects the Investment Type as SIP and enters the SIP Date, No. of Installments, Amount and Broker details.
Step 5 – Waits till the information is processing and confirmation is displayed on the screen
Step 6 – Enters mChek PIN to confirm the transaction. On successful completion the investor will receive a confirmation on sms giving complete details of the transaction.
13) How to make a Switch request through the Mobile?
Step 1 – After launching the application the investor goes to the mChek Mall and selects Mutual Funds and thereafter selects 'Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund'.
Step 2 – Indicates the intent to Switch existing investments and selects the folio and switch-out scheme after accepting the terms and conditions.
Step 3 – Selects the Switch In Scheme particulars
Step 4 – Selects the quantity (units) or amount that is to be switched and enters the broker code
Step 5 – Waits till the information is processing and confirmation is displayed on the screen
Step 6 - Enters mChek PIN to confirm the transaction. On successful completion the investor will receive a confirmation on sms giving complete details of the transaction.
14) How to make a redemption request through the mobile?
Step 1 – After launching the application the investor goes to the mChek Mall and selects Mutual Funds and thereafter selects 'Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund'.
Step 2 - Indicates the intent to redeem existing investments and selects the folio and scheme
Step 3 – Selects the scheme and the quantity (units) or amount that is to be redeemed
Step 4 – Waits till the information is processing and confirmation is displayed on the screen
Step 5 – Enters mChek PIN to confirm the transaction. On successful completion the investor will receive a confirmation on sms giving complete details of the transaction.

16) Is there any charge/fee for using mChek?
mChek does not charge for any transactions currently. The only charges applicable are the internet usage charges by the investor's mobile network provider.
17) How secure is this mode to transact?
Every transaction using mChek must be authorized from your mobile phone using the 6 digit mChek PIN that you set yourself on your phone and hence is known to nobody else. mChek is the first company to be PCI DSS 1.2 certified for credit card security and is approved by Visa, MasterCard and by other leading banks.
18) What should I do if my mobile phone is lost?
In case you lose your phone, please follow the steps as listed below:
Contact operator to deactivate your SIM and report phone loss to concerned authorities as you would do normally.
Send an email to

stating that, your phone is lost.
19) What happens to my mChek account when I get a new mobile phone with the same phone number?
You can continue using the same account on your new phone if you have the same mobile number. To get the mChek application, please send a mail to
support@mchek.net
with your mobile number to download mChek to your new handset.
20) Can I set my own mChek PIN?
Yes. When you register with mChek, you will be required to select your own 6 digit mChek PIN. Please ensure the security of your mChek account by not sharing the mChek PIN with anyone and changing the same at frequent intervals.
21) What will happen if I enter the wrong mChek PIN?
After 3 incorrect attempts, your account will be blocked preventing any further transactions. To unblock your account, please send an email to mChek Support to
support@mchek.net
mChek Support will contact you within 24 hours.
